Greetings, fellow bloggers. I have finally tackled the task of sewing a button on by myself. It was fairly easy to do once I got the hang of things, although I did have my struggles. It sounds silly, but I had trouble threading the needle. It was a small problem, but I could not seem to be able to get it the first couple attempts.
My second struggle of three was messing up on threading through the wrong button hole. It only happened a few times, but it still was a mini battle that I eventually conquered. Failing during this project has just made it more enjoyable for me oddly enough. The feeling of completing these sewing projects will be so much sweeter knowing how much I have improved in an area I knew nothing about.
My final hiccup was tying the knot. No, not marrying but actually tying the knot on the button after the cross pattern was formed. Sewing a button may not excite the normal crowd, but it does excite me. I am inching closer and closer to starting on the final phase of my project, and I'm very excited to begin.
Hey Cameron, I'm glad you're not letting these tiny hiccups discourage you. Learning to sew a button on will be useful in life and you'll be glad you learned how to do it. Sometimes the simplest things can be the hardest, and that's okay. Keep up the hard work.
ReplyDeleteI know how aggravating threading a needle can be. My mom taught me (as gross as this may seem to some) to cover it with saliva to make it easier. If that disgusts you maybe try putting a little water on the end that's supposed to go through the eye.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you find a button sewing exciting, and also your perseverance is something to admire. Good luck with your final project.
Cameron, it’s good to see you succeeding on be able to sew. I have enjoyed to read that your failures just make it better for you in the end as some people would just quit if they can’t achive it the first time they don’t get it. I know from personal experience that you don’t give up with anything that you do, so it’s cool to to see that carry over into the tiny things in life. I wish you the best of luck in sewing in the future.
