Hello my fellow peers. Thank you for tuning in for another week of piano with Cameron. I made some changes to my schedule this past week. Instead of learning two songs like I originally planned, I am going to focus on "The Sound of Silence."
I have a few reasons for my sudden change. The song itself was five pages long, and I couldn't keep myself going at that pace coming back from a five year hiatus. If I dedicated more than 2 hours a week I possibly could, but it Is hard to find time in my busy schedule. In my opinion, I would rather play one song to near perfection than two songs mediocre with a lot of mistakes.
I plan to stay focused on "The Sound of Silence" up until my tedtalk so I can master this song.. hopefully. I will continue with my routine of playing piano in the multipurpose room and then switching over to the janitorial closet when the elementary music class starts. I am also going to try to put in a little more time at home so I can succeed with this project.
I really like the song choice, Cameron. I can't wait to hear you perform it during your TED Talk, I know you'll do great. It's a good idea to focus on just one song, it sounds hard to complete two during this genius hour. The "take one thing at a time" is a good mentality to run with. Good luck to you, pal.
ReplyDeleteHello Cameron, my old friend/I've come to comment on your blog again.
ReplyDeleteI went and read the lyrics to the sound of silence since I was unfamiliar with the song. I hope your playing is better than the rather depressing lyrics. I, too, can't wait to hear you perform during your TedTalk.
My apologies, no, my deepest regrets, for the stereotypical comment.
I can't wait to hear you play the sound of silence, maybe even hopefully hear you sing it with your wonderful voice. Im glad you are putting in the time in order to be able to play this song amazingly.
